The lookout tower designed by architect Martin Rajniš stands on the flat top of Hradiště, 200 metres above the level of the Vltava River on the site of a former Celtic oppidum. The wooden structure with metal reinforcements measures thirty-two metres and offers a circular view of the surroundings.
On the acropolis of the largest Celtic oppidum in Bohemia near Dolní Břežany near Prague, a cylindrical structure made of larch wood, 32 metres high and rising 200 metres above the level of the Vltava River, was erected in 2021. The architect Martin Rajniš is behind its design.
The lookout tower consists of three wooden columns surrounding a circular staircase. The entire structure is fixed to the ground by steel rods. Tourists can climb to the viewing platform, which is located at a height of 24 metres. The top offers a circular view of the confluence of the Vltava and Berounka rivers, Zbraslav Castle and the nearby quarry, the southern outskirts of Prague Modřany and Stodůlky, and the peaks of the Bohemian Central Highlands on the horizon behind Prague, and in good visibility also Bezděz or Ještěd.
